Bridport’s Saturday and Wednesday Markets

Bridport market days run from 8.00am – 2.00pm and have been compared to London’s Portobello Road on a Friday, which says it all really. As well as all the usual fruits, vegetables, artisan cheese, meat, olive, salami and pie stalls you will find new and vintage jewellery stalls, vintage and hand made clothing stalls, artists selling a huge range of artworks in a variety of mediums, plants and flower stalls, antique and vintage furniture and collectables and much more. The market also runs on a Wednesday but tends to be smaller than the Saturday version and of course, will be subject to weather conditions.

Bridport Farmers Market

courtesy of Bridport and Westbay websiteThe Farmer’s Market is held on the second Saturday of the month in the Arts Centre and runs entirely separately to the bi-weekly markets. This market offers a variety of local fresh, often organic, goods. Many of the traders are members of the Bridport Local Food Group which organises the annual summer Bridport Food Festival held in June in Asker Meadows.

The Alleyways

The Alleyways is located on St Michael’s Trading Estate (parking at rear of Waitrose) is open every day from 10.00am including Sundays and Bank Holidays. A huge range of antiques, vintage collectables and art. There are also many other traders selling a wide variety of antiques and collectables from various other warehouses on the estate and a particular favourite of our is the warehouse which stocks vintage fairground neons, lights, signs and fairground rides and some Americana.

Bridport Vintage Market

This market runs on the last Sunday of every month and is also located on St Michael’s Trading Estate. There are bargains to be found here as they are run on a market stall basis and therefore tend to be much cheaper than shop purchases.

And slightly further afield …
